Edenfield is easily accessible from the Manchester Airport
(about 12 miles north), and the area surrounding the village is
full of historical and other interesting sites.

The church tower is the only remaining part of
the original church that was built on the site in the 1540s.

Coalmining and the textile industry in the 19th
century did great damage to Rossendale Valley's countryside, but
local conservation efforts are doing much to restore the natural
beauty of the area.

On the site marked by this monument in the hilly
moors of Rossendale Valley, there once stood a large wooden
Pilgrim's Cross where medieval pilgrims stopped and rested on
their way to Whalley Abbey to the north.
